BEEF& GUINNESS.

Apparently I have too many vegetarian dishes on my blog.
So tonight, I made my first ever beef stew/casserole type dish. It was going to be a pie but I wanted creamy mash and yorkshire puds and if I was to add puff pastry to that mix I would have felt guilty for days.
So anyway, this beef stew was IMMENSE.
SO EFFING DELICIOUS.
and really really easy.

Chopped up beef for stewing, stewing veg, beef stock, plain flour and Guinness.

Coat the beef in flour

Peel and roughly chop the veg

Heat oil in a pan and lightly brown the beef

Remove the beef from the pan and put to the side, fry the chopped veg in the hot pan

Add the beef to the veg and cook

Slowly add the Guinness and stir

You can either crumble in a stock cube or stir the stock cube into boiling water and add to the stew (I did both) then stir in plain flour

I didn't have a stewing pot so I had to put the mixture into an oven dish and cover with foil but if you have one then just put it in the oven at 200 degrees and cover. Leave for 2-2&1/2 hours

Serve with buttery mash, peas and yorkshire puddings

VoilĂ !

So yummy :)
